Nete Nørgaard Kristensen
Nete Nørgaard Kristensen, PhD, Professor of Media Studies at Department of Communication, University of Copenhagen, where she serves as head of Section of Media Studies. She has served as PI for a Nordic research network for cultural journalism studies (funded by NOS-HS, 2014-15), a comparative project about discourses on popular culture in Nordic cultural journalism (funded by Arts Council Norway, 2016-17), the research project From Ivory Tower to Twitter: Rethinking the Cultural Critic in Contemporary Media Culture (FITT, funded by Independent Research Council Denmark, 2015-2019) and is currently Danish partner and WP-leader in the H2020-project European Inventory of societal values of culture (INVENT, 2020-2023). She is the author and editor of ten books and special issues and has published numerous articles in international journals such as Communication, Culture & Critique, Digital Journalism, Journalism, Journalism Practice, Journalism Studies, Sociology Compass, Television & New Media.
David Hesmondhalgh
David Hesmondhalgh, Professor of Media, Music and Culture at the University of Leeds. He is the author of The Cultural Industries (4th edition, 2019), Why Music Matters (2013); and co-author of Creative Labour: Media Work in Three Cultural Industries (2010) and Culture, Economy and Politics: The Case of New Labour (2015). He is also editor or co-editor of eight other books or special journal issues, including a 2014 special issue of Popular Communication (co-edited with Anamik Saha) on Race and Cultural Production; The Media and Social Theory (Routledge, co-edited with Jason Toynbee, 2008); and Media and Society, 6th edition (Bloomsbury, co-edited with James Curran, 2019).
